Jody Miller: Las Vegas Unsolved Homicide

13 yr. old, Jody Miller was a student at Garside Junior High in Las Vegas, NV when she went missing. It is believed that she crawled through the bedroom window of her house on June 21, 1971. She was reported as a missing juvenile. A female friend last saw Jody on June 23, 1971. Five months later, on November 2, 1971 her remains were discovered wrapped in a blanket, lying in a shallow grave in the desert area approx. 150' North West of Jones and Lone Mountain Blvd.

What happened to Jody was not what she had in mind when she crawled through her window that night. Maybe she had problems she couldn’t deal with. Are the words to the song below how she was feeling? Maybe, but we don't know. What we do know is SOMEONE knows who killed Jody and we need them to come forward.

Did you know Jody back in 1971? Did she talk to you about anything that seemed unimportant to you then, but might have some significance now? Did she talk about going to meet someone? Did she talk about having someone special in her life? Is there anyone out there who remembers something?

Anyone with information is urged to call Las Vegas Metro Homicide Cold Case Detail at 702-229-COLD
Case# 71-12531

This song was played at Jody’s Funeral. It is posted here in her honor. She still has a friend who remembers and cares. Sly, keep the faith.

Bridge Over Troubled Water

When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes,
I will dry them all
I'm on your side
When times get rough
And friends just can't be found

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

When you're down and out
When you're on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you
I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
When you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind

Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Samatha Baremore ~ Samantha Baremore : UPDATE

I have been communicating with Patrick Wilson, reporter from the Winston-Salem Journal since I first started my journey to get Samantha listed with the internet community as a missing person. Several emails later he began working on a story about Samantha. After two months of asking Law Enforcement for information he received none. He was recently told the detective working her case had been reassigned to another section and they would have to decide what information could be given out. The decision must still be under consideration... he still hasn't heard from them. "Par for the Course".

He moved forward and today Patrick sent me her vitals and a photo will be coming soon. Information supplied by her mother.

Samantha is not Samantha after all... her name is:

Samatha Elizabeth Baremore NO "N"

Samatha Elizabeth Baremore, was 24 years old when she went missing on April 8, 2004. She was last seen in the 1700 block of S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. She had been living with her boyfriend on Weatherwood Court. Baremore has not contacted her family or boyfriend since her disappearance.

Vitals:
Height - 5 feet 6 inches tall
Weight - about 115 pounds

Tonight I can sleep well… it feels great. Thank You Patrick

Dusty Shuck ~ New Mexico Missing Woman’s Body Found In Maryland

Is a Serial Killer at work in Silver City, New Mexico? Could it be a truck driver with a route that would take him through Silver City, NM and then on to Maryland? It looks like a possibility.

Less than one month ago, Lori Atwood dropped off her daughter, Dusty Shuck, at a counseling appointment in Silver City, N.M. It was the last time Atwood saw her 24-year-old daughter alive.
On April 24, Atwood dropped Dusty off at the Border Area Mental Health Center. She then walked from the center to Copper Manor Motel. She checked out of the motel and found a ride out of town, according to police. "There was no fight," Atwood said on her daughter's departure. "There was no problem. She just took flight." Nine days later, on May 4, Dusty's body was found near a truck stop off Interstate 70 in Maryland. "I knew something bad had happened," Atwood said. "I didn't know it would be this bad." "We need to find out who picked her up, how far they drove her out of Silver City and where they dropped her off," Atwood said. "There was no hiding her body, so he's done it before. There was no sexual assault, he just killed her."

On May 4, a motorist on Interstate 70 found her body near a truck stop in Frederick County, Md. Investigators said Shuck, last seen in New Mexico on April 24, died from a combination of blunt force trauma to the head and a slit throat.

Police believe Shuck was killed elsewhere because there was scant evidence at the scene, about 25 miles west of Baltimore. She was wearing a tank top and sweat pants but no shoes. Her head was wrapped in a bloody cloth.

Delia Cly Hoax: or A Kidnapped Child?

The story of Delia Cly was and may still be posted on the Childseek Network if they have not removed the information. A member of "The Baker Street Connection" brought this story to our attention. We were prepared to help this lady find out her true identity but collectively felt it would only be chasing our tails without DNA testing to prove her theory. She claimed to have been kidnapped at a very young age by the man who raised her. She said this man had refused DNA testing. It was my belief, then and now, that she could have forced him into DNA testing through a court order or further help from Law Enforcement. The story went no further here but, took on a life of it's own at Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community.

I would like to make it clear that I am also a member at Websleuths and I respect all the wonderful people there. They are smart, loving, caring, and kind people… with the biggest hearts you will ever find on the Internet. They spent thousands of hours trying to help this lady, only to be slapped in the face. Yes… they should have followed their head instead of their heart, but they didn’t and that is what makes them the special people they are.

The Delia Cly story was a Spotlight Case featured thread. It began with “Who is Delia Cly?” and progressed on to Who is Delia Cly Part 2 and Who is Delia Part 3 with many other special sections of discussion.

The suspected hoax came to an end on May 4, 2006 at 11:38 PM. Had it not been for a perceptive member by the name of “SLY” it may have lasted longer.

It is not known at this time whether or not her story is true in any way, shape, or form. But it has been reported to The Federal Government Internet Fraud Dept., The FBI, and The Childseek Network. I suspect an investigation is in the works.

Notice: If you run a forum or chat site please do not let this person take up your time. She may need help, we do not dispute that… but it is not something that requires anything less than a trained professional in the field of Psychiatry or Law Enforcement. Which one… we are not sure.
